In the time when many Teej songs are facing controversy, Hamal is presenting a different opinion. She says that not everyone can walk the same way. And saying that it is personal for some to believe it or not she added that the songs are facing controversy and popularity at the same time because people are saying bad things and claiming it to be bad. She requests that if someone thinks something is bad, they should not talk about it.
Lately, the Teej songs are not only getting in controversy but the relation between a girl and her house is also disappearing. In this context singer Hamal says that since Teej started to get someone so there is nothing to get shocked about. The festival of Teej started when Parvati fasted to get Shiva as husband and now the Teej songs have become more about lovers which Hamal claims to be common. Singer Radhika Hamal who claims these things to be normal, herself does not fast to get a good husband. But she says that someone can get good husband by not even fasting.
Hamal from Liwang of Rolpa used to sing from childhood. During childhood when she used to cry, her parents used to say ‘Our tape recorded has started’ and she used to stop crying and start singing. Even though no one in her family in involved in singing field, she was supported by her parents from childhood to sing. Hamal has been living in the capital from last years and has sang songs of different genre and informed that she has sang nearly thousand songs by now. During childhood she had friends who had better voice and tune than her. But leaving them behind, Radhika became a staple in Nepal music industry. She got a sponsor at the beginning. Due to which she never had to face any loss. The most popular song of hers is ‘Dhalkyo jawani’. She got married to Krishna Pun, she is not sure if Krishna wanted Radhika or Radhika wanted Krishna.
During collage, the duo of singer Pashupati Sharma and Radika Hamal was really good. But later the duo got separated. Hamal says that the reason for the duo to break is the beginning of new authors in Nepali music. Hamal said that since they started to get close with the new artists, her duo with Pashupati separated.
Hamal who has done some music video except singing was lastly seen starring in a music video called ‘Mali Gai ko dahi’, and she felt that she could also do something in acting. She has also collected a lot of popularity through this music video.
